your ability to focus and concentrate all day is amazing. after about 1 1/2 hours of being in the zone, i am finished.

also, thanks for that golden nugget about setting alerts. it probably seems like common sense to you, but i rarely do it. some of the trades you took in the past, i would say, "how the hell did he catch that". i am going to make it a point to set price alerts on stocks i am watching.

j- well i work hard at it. i mean i actively work hard to eliminate "noise' so that what is left is only a few basic triggers I need to respond to. that is what my post yesterday was about and also my post "intelligent ignorance" was about. when my head is not filled with useless distractions it is easy to concentrate fully on the task at hand.
if you haven't already read the free concentration book that i link to in the right column, do so. some of it might appear cheesy but the concepts outlined work. for instance can you look an apple for 30 seconds without any non apple thoughts intruding? this is concentration. can you close your eyes and describe in detail every feature of that apple.this is concentration. this is the level you strive to attain.this is whats gets you into the zone and makes you be able to see what the markets are actually doing.
this is why you should kill your TV and start to really look inside yourself. the power of YOUR brain is amazing if you can learn to harness it. the confidence that comes from all of this when you get there is what makes trading easy.

i took a second look at that book today. over the past few months, i have been reading the first few lessons and it was just stories about how concentration can help you in your life. i was thinking, i understand the concept but "how do i learn to concentrate". well, checking it over again today, i found the real lessons start at page 87. by the way, i actually had blue collar send me the pdf awhile ago because the link doesn't work. does it work for you?

instead of reading books about trading i'm going to spend that time learning to concentrate better.

Hey Scott,

The issue is with the html link. If you go to firefox and click on the link you will notice it has an extra http//

http://http//www.jogena.com/resources/concentration.pdf

I am guessing the reason it works in chrome is that chrome smart enough to recognize that the link is not formed correctly and fixes it for you.

I also noticed that you have a similar issue with a few other links.

Hope that helps, cheers.

pav- i saw that too when i was trying to get it to work. blogger adds the extra http to the links or else they do not turn into links, not sure how to fix that. actually i found last night the book using firefox which chrome would not recognize either. strange. anyway a reader could put the title in their favourite browser and find it that way
