Motivation

Remember those goals you set at the start of the year? Did you achieve them? Did you stick with your plan or did you lose your motivation? Get side tracked or caught up with the little things that you forgot about the major goals you wanted to achieve?

You likely have a list of excuses or reasons for not sticking with your plan. It happens... and the only reason it happens is because you're used to a routine, one that doesn't let you achieve your goals, not unless you shake things up in your mind and subconscious mind.

You see, your mind and subconscious mind are used to a certain routine, they're used to things being a certain way. It's a habit that you've formed. We're all creatures of habit. If you're not creating the changes that you want it's because you're not motivated. You're not motivated because your mind and subconscious mind are simply sticking to the habit of not achieving your goals; that's the habit that you've formed. Just like you have a routine that you follow every morning when you get dressed and go to work, your mind and subconscious mind follow a certain routine. Either your mind and subconscious mind have developed a habit for being motivated and succeeding or they're used to just keeping things the way they are.

The good news is you can create new habits and direct your mind and
subconscious mind in a new direction, so that you can succeed.

I'll show you how do just that and I'll show you how to eliminate those excuses, and create new habits so that you're motivated and your subconscious mind is driven to help you succeed.

If you're not motivated, if you're just not getting things done, then you first have to remove the blocks, eliminate the reasons and excuses that hold you back. Is there something that you've been meaning to do but just haven't been able to for the longest time? I'm not talking about a specific goal, just something that you've been meaning to do but haven't been able to. What's the reason? Think about it. Why have you been putting it off for so long?

Be honest with yourself and write down your answer and you'll discover your excuses. These are the reasons why you're not getting motivated to achieve your goal or complete your task.

Now take a look at some of your bigger goals and do the same thing. You can think about a course that you've been meaning to take, a book you want to read, learning something that could change your life, pursuing a hobby, starting a business, increasing your finances, getting into a relationship, anything. Write down all the reasons or excuses that you come up with for not doing what you wanted to do.

Here are some of the common excuses and reasons that I hear everyday for people not doing what they want to do:

I haven't got the time.
There are just too many things to do.
I'll start on Monday (does something magical happen on Monday that doesn't happen on any other day? If there is I sure would like to know.)
First I want to get through this project then I'll get to that.
My kids are driving me crazy.
My friends won't understand.
It just takes too much time.
I'm going on vacation and will do it when I get back.
I can't concentrate.
It's just too much work.
I don't deserve it.
And the list goes on and on and on.

In the end you never complete what you wanted to do. Why? Because you've developed a habit of rationalizing your way out of getting something done and you've bought into your excuses. You now believe your excuses and this is why nothing ever gets done. So think about the excuses or reasons for not creating the changes or improvements you want in your life? Write them down because you're going to learn how to you get past or eliminate your excuses. The most common excuse or reason is time. You might find yourself saying that you don't have time or you'll get to it later when you have more time.

But what's the reason for creating that excuse. The truth is that it's often really not about time. Let's take a look at a typical day for most people.You have 24 hours in a day. You sleep for 8, leaving 16. You work 8 hours or even 10 hours a day that leaves you with 6 or 8 hours a day. Maybe you spend an hour commuting everyday that brings it down to 5 or 7 hours a day. You cook, eat and relax - does that take 5 or 7 hours everyday? No it doesn't. The truth is that if you just spent even a few minutes to an hour a day working towards your goals you'd achieve them. The real reason is not time! Instead you've accepted the reason or the excuse of not having enough time.
You now believe that you don't have the time so you no longer have the time. Your mind and subconscious mind have accepted this belief.
So instead of helping you achieve your goals - they look for ways for you to run out of time so that you never achieve anything. You may end up doing things for no reason... or take too long to do something instead of focusing on and achieving your goals.

You've actually given your mind and subconscious mind the exact opposite instruction of what you really want.

In order to turn things around you have to re-train your mind, give your
subconscious mind new instructions so that it helps you achieve your goals.

Look at the reasons you have and change them to reflect what you want to happen. Continue focusing on what you want.

If you say you don't have enough time then tell yourself that you do have the time that you need.
If you feel you haven't got enough experience - tell yourself that you do have the experience that you need.
Regularly think of what you want instead of what you don't want.
When you do this you'll begin re-training the mind.
Start giving your subconscious mind new instructions - so that it helps you achieve your goals. Focus on what you want. Think of what you want and then think about how it will change your life. Then focus on what you want and how it will change your life everyday.

When you regularly think about what you want you give your mind an objective and you continually give your subconscious mind the instruction of achieving that goal. You're constantly telling your subconscious mind that achieving that goal is important and you're telling it why it is important. Your subconscious has no choice but to help you achieve that goal - mainly
because you are regularly instructing it, by thinking of the rewards and the result.

Focus on what you want.
Eliminate the excuses.
Change your reasons - by thinking of what you want and why.
Feed your mind new information, give it a new objective.
Learn to instruct and direct your subconscious mind to help you achieve your goals and stay motivated.

Decide what you want to achieve and understand why.
Don't accept the reasons or excuses you come up with.
Instead, think of why you can achieve what you want.
Focus on the end result - don't focus on the process.
Continually think of how and why you should achieve your goals.
This is how you create a new habit of thinking.
