It's been a bumper year for my cherry tomato plants and after gorging on them breakfast, lunch and dinner, some more creative ways to eat them had to be devised.
If done correctly the following recipe will knock your socks off:
Use only organic ingredients.
3 cups of cheery tomatoes
1/2 red pepper
1/2 cup of broccoli tops
1 medium apple, slice it up leave the skin on but take the core out
1 medium pear, slice it up leave the skin on but take the core out
1/2 shallot
5 basil leaves
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
1 pinch of pepper
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 cup of water
Put everything in a blender and puree it for a minute or so
Heat on medium but don't let it get too hot or it'll lose a lot of goodness
Shred a small handful of Havarti or Gouda cheese put it on top and let it melt.
Serve with fresh baked sour dough bread, lightly toasted and heavily buttered.
Forget all about the market....

sounds soothing.
unfortunately, dtf and i don't get to grow too many vegetables out here in the desert, lol. maybe i need to invest in a topsy turvy.
when are you going to give up on beautiful BC and come mad max it with us down here?
Not much of a broccoli fan - but tomato soup is a big hit at our house. Going to have to try it out.
Thanks for sharing.
Desert Dwellers-you can always go to a organic farmers market and buy the stuff.
i lived in Vegas for a few years and although the desert has its charms I like it up here in paradise so much better.
