Musings

If BHP really want POT why don't they take control of the two railroads CP, CNI up here that move the product? When your production location is in the middle of nowhere, the transportation options are limited.
Just a thought.

interesting thought. after all the nonsense on the news about the bid i had to look up to see what exactly POT does. its then that i realized they basically mine salt that is used as fertilizer. wow, unreal. i had no idea.

my father always tells me some story about one of the rich old families like rockefeller or somebody. that they family wanted to own the means of transport of the product not the product itself. that was they way to make money. same idea here with BHP.

Yup, that is why JD Rockefeller wanted to own so much pipeline when he was getting Standard Oil to its tremendous power a century ago.
